Atrium does many complicated calculations like Team Avg - Ramped (only includes fully ramped team members), Team Avg - All (includes all team members), Team Total With Managers (includes all team members and the manager as an IC), and Team Total Without Managers (includes all team members without the manger's data). Sometimes, not all team or groups members are included in these calculations for various reasons listed below. 

How does Atrium calculate Team Averages?

In order for reps to be included in a team average they must have reported to the selected manager in the org chart hierarchy during the entire length of the selected time period. Learn more about how role history is used in Atrium's Average calculation here. 

What are the reasons why an individual is not included in a Team Average calculation? 

If it is the Team Average - Ramped selection, an individual might not be included if they were:

  • Not ramped for the whole time period selected.
  • Not on this team for any of the time period selected.
    • Ex- The individual may currently be on the team but the time period selected on the card is looking at a previous date where they were reporting to a different manager or were in a different role.   
  • Not part of this team for the entire time period selected. 
    • In order for reps to be included in a Team Average they must be on that team during the entire length of the selected time period.
  • Not in this org for any of the time period selected.
    • Ex- The individual may currently be on the team but the time period selected on the card is looking at a previous date where that individual was not part of the org yet. 
  • Only in the org for some of the time period selected.
    • In order for reps to be included in a Team Average they must be on in the org during the entire length of the selected time period.
  • A manager for some of the time period selected.
    • Managers are not included in Team Average calculations.
  • A manager for all of the time period selected.
    • Managers are not included in Team Average calculations.

If it is the Team Average - All selection, an individual might not be included if they were:

  • All of the same reasons as above minus the ramping reason! 

What are the reasons why an individual is not included in a Group Average calculation?

If it is the Group Average - Ramped selection for a Custom Group made of People (current role only), an individual might not be included if they were:

  • Not ramped for the whole time period selected.
  • Not in this org for any of the time period selected.
    • Ex- The individual may currently be in the org but the time period selected on the card is looking at a previous date where that individual was not part of the org yet. 
  • Only in the org for some of the time period selected.
    • In order for reps to be included in a Team Average they must be on in the org during the entire length of the selected time period.
  • Not in their current role for any of this time period.
    • Ex- The individual may have the current role start date after the time period selected on the card, therefore was not in their current segment/discipline combination for the time frame selected. 
  • Only in their current role for some of this time period.
    • Since you have the People - current role only option selected, we are only looking at the rep's current role history record (their current segment/discipline combination). Learn more about Atrium's Role History. 

If it is the Group Average - All selection for a Custom Group made of People (current role only), an individual might not be included if they were:

  • All of the same reasons as above minus the ramping reason! 

If it is the Group Average - Ramped selection for a Custom Group made of People (all historical roles), an individual might not be included if they were:

  • Not ramped for the whole time period selected.
  • Not in this org for any of the time period selected.
    • Ex- The individual may currently be in the org but the time period selected on the card is looking at a previous date where that individual was not part of the org yet. 
  • Only in the org for some of the time period selected.
    • In order for reps to be included in a Team Average they must be on in the org during the entire length of the selected time period.

If it is the Group Average - All selection for a Custom Group made of People (all historical roles), an individual might not be included if they were:

  • All of the same reasons as above minus the ramping reason! 

If it is the Group Average - Ramped selection for a Custom Group made of Teams, an individual might not be included if they were:

  • Not ramped for the whole time period selected.
  • Not on this team for any of the time period selected.
    • Ex- The individual may currently be on the team but the time period selected on the card is looking at a previous date where they were reporting to a different manager or were in a different role.   
  • Not part of this team for the entire time period selected. 
    • In order for reps to be included in a Team Average they must be on that team during the entire length of the selected time period.
  • Not in this org for any of the time period selected.
    • Ex- The individual may currently be on the team but the time period selected on the card is looking at a previous date where that individual was not part of the org yet. 
  • Only in the org for some of the time period selected.
    • In order for reps to be included in a Team Average they must be on in the org during the entire length of the selected time period.
  • A manager for some of the time period selected.
    • Managers are not included in Team Average calculations.
  • A manager for all of the time period selected.
    • Managers are not included in Team Average calculations.

If it is the Group Average - All selection for a Custom Group made of Teams, an individual might not be included if they were:

    • In order for reps to be included in a Team Average they must be on in the segment/discipline during the entire length of the selected time period.
  • Not in this org for any of the time period selected.
    • Ex- The individual may currently be in the segment/discipline but the time period selected on the card is looking at a previous date where that individual was not in that segment/discipline.
  • Only in the org for some of the time period selected.
    • In order for reps to be included in a Team Average they must be on in the org during the entire length of the selected time period.
  • A manager for some of the time period selected.
    • Managers are not included in Team Average calculations.
  • A manager for all of the time period selected.

How does Atrium calculate Team Totals?

In any particular timeframe, the team total will include anyone below that manager in the org chart hierarchy during that time or portion thereof. Learn more about how role history is used in Atrium's Total calculation here. 

What are the reasons why an individual is not included in a Team or Group Total calculation? 

If it is the Team Total - Without Managers selection, an individual might not be included if they were:

  • Not in this org for any of the time period selected.
    • Ex- The individual may currently be on the team or group but the time period selected on the card is looking at a previous date where that individual was not part of the org yet. 
  • Not on this team for any of the time period selected.
    • Ex- The individual may currently be on the team or group but the time period selected on the card is looking at a previous date where they were reporting to a different manager or were in a different role.   
  • A manager for the entire time period selected.
    • Since you have chosen to exclude managers in this Team Total, we will not include individuals who were a manger for the entire time period selected. 

If it is the Team Total - With Managers selection, an individual might not be included if they were:

  • All the same reasons as above minus the manager reason!
