Atrium does a number of smart things around performance measurement for reps that are in ramp - read more here!
For organizations that want to have Atrium track ramping goals in an automated way, there is a “ramping interval” that Atrium associates with each metric.
For organizations that want to have Atrium track the “pro-rated” goals, Atrium linearly pro-rates the “full” goal that is set for a metric back to a rep’s start date, and sets a “ramp goal” based on the appropriate point in ramp the rep is at.
For organizations that want to have Atrium not report on goals in ramp, Atrium will ignore the goal that is set for a rep on a given metric until the ramping period for that metric has elapsed.
Regardless of the situation, it’s useful to know the “ramping period” that Atrium assigns for these metrics, on a per discipline, and segment basis. You can see that below.
Note: If a rep has been in the same segment/discipline combination in a previous role, their ramp start date will go back to their first role with that segment/discipline combination.
Also note that these are only some of our most common metrics for these segment/discipline combinations. If you have questions about other cards that are not displayed below, reach out to us at support@atriumhq.com or via the Chat function!

How to change the default ramping periods
Atrium will default to ramping time periods that are most common for each discipline and segment in your organization (see examples in the rest of this article below!), but you can customize these default ramping time periods here.
How to change ramping rules for goals
You have further customization ability with how to handle ramping reps with goals, which can be customized here.
If you let Atrium automatically pro-rate goals for ramping employees, you can enter what you would consider a fully-ramped goal, and let Atrium calculate needed attainment based on length of ramp.
If you select “Set Your Own Goal Values,” you can enter whatever goals you would like and Atrium will not automatically adjust them. By selecting this option, you will be able to track rep goal attainment normally.
If you select “No” on including ramping employees in individual goal metrics, Atrium will turn off tracking individual goals for reps it considers to be in ramp. Even if goals are entered for these individuals, Atrium will show “N/A” and “Ramping.

FAQ: Can I set a customized ramp timeframe for my reps?
Yes! Atrium will default to ramping time periods that are most common for each discipline and segment in your organization (see examples in the rest of this article below!), but you can customize these default ramping time periods here.
You have further customization ability with how to handle ramping reps with goals, which can be customized here.
FAQ: Why are my ramping reps not showing up in goal views when I’ve chosen to set my own goals?
Great question! Atrium won’t start including what it considers ramping reps in a standard team average goal view until they were fully ramped at the beginning of the time period in question.
In the example below, Ma Beagle & Ludwig Van Drake were not fully ramped on September 1st; thus they are not factored into the team average when considering goal attainment for August & September. However, you can always choose to visualize the average including anyone in ramp as illustrated below.
FAQ: How do I check what’s been selected for Ramping Preferences?
From the Atrium Admin menu, select “Goals” and then select “Goal Ramping Settings.”
