Overview
Atrium relies on one user, called an “integration user” authorizing access to the organization’s SFDC data. The purpose of this article is to help Atrium users understand how Salesforce connects with Atrium through this “integration user.”

What is an Integration User?
When Atrium connects to a company’s SFDC data, it does so through what is known as an “integration user.” This is a Salesforce user account that gives Atrium permission to access the organization’s Salesforce data. We also use the Integration User’s settings for determining which currency we use in Atrium.
Atrium inherits the Salesforce Data access permissions of the integration user. In theory, any Salesforce user can serve as your Atrium integration user, you want to make sure that person has access to the sales data you want Atrium to analyze.
If you are using a specific individual’s Salesforce account to act as the integration user, you may at some point need to change who that user is - these steps are the way.
How do I Change Our Salesforce Integration User?
If the Salesforce user that serves as your Atrium integration user is deactivated or will be soon, you will need to provide a new integration user.
The process to integrate a new user with Atrium is straightforward and should take around ~90 seconds. When you go through the below steps, the new user will be used for SFDC Integration in place of the old user.
Identify the Salesforce user you want to serve as your Atrium integration user. Have that person open up a browser incognito window (to avoid issues with cached data or previous logins).
The steps for integrating a new user to authorize Atrium's connection to Salesforce are as follows:
- Log in to the correct Salesforce account that will be used for the integration
- Log in to the Atrium account that has the corresponding email address with the integration user.
- Click the following link -http://app.atriumhq.com/auth/sfdc-login and follow the below steps to approve Atrium access.
3a. You will get a set-up flow that looks like this:
Click “Connect Salesforce”
Click “Allow” on the “Allow Access?” prompt
- If, for whatever reason, moving through that setup flow is unsuccessful, please reach out to us via chat or email Atrium support at support@atriumhq.com with your name, the name of your organization and the email with which you tried to authorize access.
Reminder that chat is right at the bottom right corner of your screen, don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!
Further notes:
It is worth noting that Salesforce recommends the use of a “dedicated” integration user. You can read more about the utility of that concept, and how to make use of it, on their website, here: link
If you have an existing Integration User and then add a new one, the new one will replace the existing Integration User.
